The Mercedes team announced today, Thursday, that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a new contract to continue racing alongside fellow Briton George Russell in Formula 1 for the years 2024 and 2025. The Mercedes team did not disclose the financial details of the new contract. Hamilton, 38 years old, last won a race in 2021 amid the dominance of Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team, ending Mercedes' streak of eight consecutive Constructors' Championships. Hamilton, the most successful driver in the history of the sport, joined Mercedes from McLaren in 2013 and has won the world championship six times with them, achieving 82 race wins out of a total of 103 victories in his career.
