Manchester City Ends Winning Streak in the Premier League Following Draw with Brighton

Manchester City's winning streak in the Premier League, which reached 12 consecutive matches, ended after a 1-1 draw with sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion. City, aiming for three titles this season and who secured their fifth title in six seasons in the league earlier this week, lacked their usual strength but initially took the lead when Phil Foden scored in the 25th minute.

Brighton, who have qualified for European competition next season—marking the club's first-ever European adventure—demonstrated why by showcasing some brilliant football, with Julio Enciso equalizing for the home side with a stunning long-range shot in the 38th minute.

A goal scored by Danny Welbeck just before halftime was disallowed for Brighton, and Erling Haaland thought he had put City ahead late in the game, but a Video Assistant Referee check penalized him for pulling the opposing player’s shirt.

This marks the first time City has dropped points since February. With one match remaining in the season against Brentford next Sunday, City has 89 points, eight points ahead of Arsenal, while Brighton has 62 points.
