Jamileh Asks the Government About the Reasons for Not Transferring Revenue from the Independent Municipal Fund

The head of the Lebanese Kataeb Party, MP Sami Jamileh, submitted a written question to the government on behalf of the Kataeb parliamentary bloc regarding the reasons for not transferring the revenue from the Independent Municipal Fund, which has accumulated from the years 2021 and 2022, as well as cellular revenues since 2018, which have not yet been distributed.

Jamileh considered that "depriving municipalities and municipal unions from receiving their full entitled revenues leads to an inability to provide basic services for residents within the municipal area and to secure salaries and compensations for employees in municipal councils." He questioned the Ministers of Interior and Finance about the reasons for not issuing a decree for the distribution of the Independent Municipal Fund's money in September, as required by the legal texts in this regard, and inquired about the date the government intends to transfer the collected funds for municipalities and the cellular revenues since 2018 to the accounts of the municipalities.
