Rudi Garcia expressed confidence that he will receive support from Napoli fans despite a disappointing start for the Serie A champions this season. Before tomorrow's Serie A match against Bologna, Napoli sits sixth in the standings. With two wins, one draw, and one loss, the team trails leaders Inter Milan by five points. The results have not met the club's ambitions, marking a difficult beginning for Garcia, who took charge of the club last June following Luciano Spalletti's departure.
Garcia told reporters on Saturday, "Every time I meet the fans in the city... they encourage me and say they support me, and I speak directly to them. It's clear that when you have ambition and are the champions of Italy, you want to defend that title with all your strength." The 59-year-old coach emphasized the need for his team to be more efficient in front of goal. He added, "In Serie A, we have conceded five goals despite allowing only eight shots on goal, so it doesn't seem like we are far from our positions. The team must hold on to its principles, which are high pressing, passing, possession, and creating opportunities."
