Transparency in Procurement: Ensuring Justice

The head of the Public Procurement Authority, Jean Alia, confirmed that tenders are conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement Law and through the platform of the Public Procurement Authority. He noted that the contracting committee is formed by the purchasing entities independently and not by the tender management. He emphasized that the Public Procurement Authority, as a supervisory body, has the full right to audit the file after the tender process and publish the complete report. In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," he stated: "There is a freezing period before contracting with the awarded bidder, lasting ten working days, during which interventions and recommendations from the Public Procurement Authority are considered after ensuring compliance with the law." Alia assured that the Public Procurement Authority and the port director, Omar Ayatani, are keen to ensure that all companies receive their rights and that justice is upheld with complete transparency.
