Qatar's Al Ahli Football Club announced on Monday that they have signed German winger Julian Draxler for two seasons, coming from French club Paris Saint-Germain. The Qatari club shared pictures of Draxler wearing the number 7 jersey after he underwent a medical examination in Doha on Sunday.
Draxler's departure from PSG follows his exclusion from the plans of the club's new Spanish coach, Luis Enrique.
Draxler shone at Schalke, where he played 168 matches and scored 29 goals, before moving to Wolfsburg in a large transfer in the summer of 2015, and then to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Last season, he was on loan at Portuguese club Benfica.
During his five seasons at Paris, Draxler played 198 matches across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 41 assists.
The German player will provide a significant boost to Al Ahli, which has struggled in the local league, losing all three matches played so far and conceding ten goals, currently sitting second to last in the standings.
