The Egyptian national team succeeded in reaching the final of the African Cup of Nations under-23 football tournament currently held in Morocco, thus securing a spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics as well. The qualification of the "Pharaohs" came at the expense of their Guinean counterparts after winning the match with a single goal scored by player Mohamed Shahat just 9 minutes after the match started, which took place this Tuesday evening at the "Tangier" stadium in Morocco.
The Egyptian Olympic team's first goal against Guinea was scored by "Mohamed Shahat."
Egypt will head to the final of the continental tournament, awaiting the winner of the other matchup between Morocco and Mali, which will take place later this evening at the "Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex" in the capital, Rabat. It is worth noting that both finalists of the African Cup of Nations under-23 will qualify directly for the summer Olympic Games scheduled in Paris in 2024, along with the team that finishes in third place, while the team that finishes fourth will have to compete in the global playoff for a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
