Lebanese Army Foils Smuggling Operation via Al-Abda Port

The following statement was issued by the Army Command - Directorate of Orientation: "On September 14, 2023, as part of the efforts to combat illegal migration by sea, and following information received by the Intelligence Directorate regarding the citizens (A.A.) and (Q.A.) preparing for a people smuggling operation by sea using a boat at Al-Abda Port - Tripoli, a patrol from the Directorate raided the latter's home and arrested 48 Syrians who were preparing for illegal migration by sea. The mentioned boat was also seized. Investigations with the detainees have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
