Red Bull completely dominated the opening race of the Formula 1 World Championship held at the Bahrain Circuit. Two-time world champion Max Verstappen finished the race 11.987 seconds ahead of his Mexican teammate Sergio Pérez, and 38.6 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso, who secured third place driving for Aston Martin. Meanwhile, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz lagged behind by 48 seconds.
Mercedes driver George Russell commented, "I don't think any team can match them this year. They should win every race. I bet on that."
However, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner noted that last Sunday’s race was a tense experience due to numerous mistakes that occurred. He stated, "This season consists of 23 races and will be a marathon... We expect our competitors to come back stronger in the upcoming races." He emphasized that nothing should be taken for granted and that after participating in two or three races, a much clearer picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the Red Bull car and the team’s competitiveness would emerge.
