Scientists Observe "Meteorite Rock" in Northern Morocco

Scientists Observe

The Institute of Astronomical Physics in Andalusia (IAA-CSIC) has detected a fireball in the sky over northern Morocco, believed to be a meteorite rock coming from space. According to Spanish media, "scientists from the Spanish institute think that the rock originated from an asteroid and perished after entering Earth's atmosphere at a record speed before disintegrating and extinguishing at an altitude of 31,000 kilometers north of the kingdom." The report states that "the speed of this space rock reached 61,000 kilometers per hour, creating a strong fiery glow at an altitude exceeding 97,000 kilometers over the town of Ibohjarin, before disintegrating after descending about 31,000 kilometers above the town of Beni Oukil." The "Southwest European Meteorite and Fireball Network" (SWEMN Network) published a video on its official YouTube account documenting "the moment of observing the fiery meteorite rock, which shows a sharp white glow during its fall before completely disappearing from sight."
