England Coach Rewards Palmer After Chelsea Brilliance

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been rewarded for his stellar performances at the start of this season by being called up to the England national football team for the final two matches of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. England manager Gareth Southgate has also summoned two other players for the first time: Aston Villa center-back Ezri Konsa (26 years old) and Manchester City midfielder Rico Lewis (18 years old), to fill in for the injured trio of James Maddison (Tottenham), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), and Callum Wilson (Newcastle). Palmer has notably shone this season at Chelsea since transferring from Manchester City on the last day of the summer transfer window for €51 million. The 21-year-old has scored four goals for Chelsea, including a crucial equalizer from a penalty against Manchester City in the fifth minute of stoppage time during a thrilling match that ended in a dramatic 4-4 draw on Sunday in the Premier League.
