Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced today that his country is facing a common enemy war aimed at destabilizing security in Iran and tarnishing the image of its internal security forces. According to the "Mehr" news agency, Abdollahian's statements were made in a message addressed to the Commander of Internal Security Forces in Iran, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, to congratulate him on the occasion of Internal Security Forces Week. The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that his country has a unique role in the stability and security of the region and the world, adding that Iran is a leader in combating terrorism and drug trafficking, and that the internal security forces are one of the key pillars in maintaining security throughout the country and in establishing security and peace for the Iranian people. Abdollahian noted that "the internal security forces in Iran have sacrificed the blood of their martyrs in this serious responsibility of defending the country’s security."
