No Injuries or Damage from Ukrainian Attack on Russian Port of Novorossiysk

Russian social media users circulated reports about hearing explosions and gunfire this morning near the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea. Video clips shared by a local group online and published by the Russian news site Astra showed ship movements off the coast and gunfire sounds coming from the direction of the sea.

A busy night in the Black Sea as Ukrainian drones hit a Russian fuel depot in Feodosia in Russian-occupied Crimea and unmanned surface vehicles targeted Novorossiysk, a Russian Black Sea naval base. Both targets are hundreds of kilometers from Ukrainian-controlled areas.

Russian media agency reported that emergency services in Novorossiysk confirmed the occurrence of explosions and noted that security services were informed. The port is one of the largest on the Black Sea. TASS news agency quoted the Russian Ministry of Defense stating that "Russian air defenses shot down ten Ukrainian drones over Crimea today and intercepted three other drones using counter-electronic measures."
