The National News Agency reported that the leadership of the Bekaa regional area in the Internal Security Forces has opened an investigation to determine whether an explosion occurred at the Twaiti quarries in the Zahle district today. The Zahle police station is handling the investigation. Residents of Zahle felt an earthquake at 2:15 PM today, preceded by a loud noise. Sensor centers recorded its strength at 3 degrees on the Richter scale. Currently, the Army Intelligence is implementing a security cordon around the quarries in the Twaiti area, awaiting the arrival of an explosives expert to inspect the site.
