Photos: Raisi Meets Erdogan in Ankara

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is holding talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara today, Wednesday, to discuss the escalating conflict in Gaza and energy cooperation between the two countries. The Turkish presidency stated yesterday, Tuesday, "During the meetings, in addition to bilateral relations, views will be exchanged on current regional and global issues, specifically the Israeli attacks on Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories." It added that "the two leaders will also chair the Turkish-Iranian Business Council, and some agreements may be signed," while Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar mentioned that he discussed energy cooperation with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji during talks in Ankara yesterday, Tuesday. Raisi had postponed his visit to Turkey twice, which was originally scheduled for November, due to scheduling issues and attacks in the city of Kerman in southeastern Iran.
