Iraq: 15 Kg of Crystal Seized and Suspect Arrested

The General Directorate for Drug Affairs and Psychotropic Substances announced today, Tuesday, the seizure of 15 kg of crystal and the arrest of a suspect after a confrontation in Basra. Major General Ahmed Al-Zurqani, the Director General of Drug Affairs, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "a force from the Drug Affairs Directorate was able to seize 15 kg of crystal and apprehend a suspect after engaging with him and injuring him during his escape attempt in Basra." He confirmed that "the operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari."
