World Health Organization: We have lost contact with those responsible at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza

The World Health Organization stated on Saturday that it has lost communication with its contacts at Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza and expressed “deep concern” regarding the safety of all those trapped there due to fighting, calling for an immediate ceasefire. Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported that operations at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, halted on Saturday after running out of fuel. The World Health Organization expressed “deep concerns regarding the safety of healthcare workers and the hundreds of patients and wounded individuals, including infants on life support, as well as displaced persons still within the hospital,” and reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
