The British Maritime Trade Operations reported that it "received a report of a missile fired at a vessel sailing approximately 90 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden." The agency stated in a message on the X platform that the missile fell between 400 and 500 meters from the ship, noting that there were no injuries or damages. The agency added that the vessel continued sailing towards its destination, and investigations are still underway to uncover the circumstances of the incident. The agency advised ships to exercise caution while passing through the area and to report any suspicious activity.
Additionally, the British company "Ambrey" confirmed "gunfire targeting a Panama-flagged tanker in the Red Sea near Aden." The company stated that the tanker "was mistakenly targeted based on outdated information linking the vessel to Britain." An advisory note from the agency reported, "The captain reported a missile fell into the water between 400 and 500 meters away, and it was followed by three small boats," adding that there were no injuries or damages. Ambrey noted, "This is the second tanker mistakenly targeted by the Houthis, carrying Russian oil." Earlier, British Minister for Armed Forces James Heappey announced that the UK is considering taking further individual measures against the Houthis.
