A source within Hamas has revealed that advanced mediation is being carried out by Qatar to facilitate an urgent exchange deal with Israel. The source, who requested anonymity, told the Xinhua news agency that Doha, with American support, is seeking an agreement that would involve the release of Israeli women held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli jails. The source added that a Hamas leader informed Qatar that the movement does not oppose the exchange, provided it guarantees the release of all 36 Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli jails.
