A source in the court stated to a Novosti correspondent: "The court's decision extends the detention of Ivan Gershkovich, who is accused of committing a crime under Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code, for two months, until March 30." On March 30, 2023, the Russian Federal Security Service announced the arrest of journalist Ivan Gershkovich in Yekaterinburg from the Moscow office of The Wall Street Journal on suspicion of espionage on behalf of the United States government.
