Syrian President Bashar al-Assad accepted today, Tuesday, the credentials of Hassan Ahmed Mohamed Suleiman Al-Shahi as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Syrian Arab Republic. Al-Shahi arrived in Damascus at the beginning of last week, thus becoming the first UAE ambassador to Syria since 2011.
Yesterday, President Bashar al-Assad also accepted the credentials of both Muhammad Jalalovich Ali as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic, and Walid Doumany as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Syrian Arab Republic. The acceptance of the new ambassadors' credentials took place in the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Ezzam.
