Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi announced today, Monday, a series of changes in high-ranking military positions for the first time since the attack launched by Hamas on October 7. The army stated in a release that a new commander for the multi-task unit has been appointed to replace Roy Levy, who was killed in the attacks on October 7, along with new commanders for the Golani Brigade, the Southern Brigade in the Gaza Division, and the First Brigade. The list includes three senior leaders at the rank of Brigadier General, 11 new leaders at the rank of Colonel, in addition to 26 others who have been reassigned between units at the same rank. The appointments affected dozens of positions within the army, as well as other positions in military attaches in several countries, according to the army's statement. The statement clarified that the appointments await the approval of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to take effect.
