It confirmed that its operations would escalate during the month of Ramadan "in support of the people of Gaza." The Islamic Resistance in Iraq stated in a release: "By the grace of God, the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the building of the headquarters of the Zionist entity's Ministry of Defense in our occupied lands at dawn today, Sunday, March 24, 2024." It added: "This qualitative operation during these blessed nights emphasizes our continued efforts to strike the strongholds of our enemies and to complete the second phase of the resistance operations against the occupation, which will escalate during the blessed month of Ramadan, in support of our people in Gaza, and in response to the Zionist massacres against unarmed Palestinian civilians."
