A Spanish media report revealed today, Wednesday, the reaction of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti regarding the threat of a 4-year and 9-month prison sentence for tax evasion. Reports indicated that Ancelotti evaded paying over one million euros to the Spanish tax authorities during the financial years 2014 and 2015, during his first stint with Real Madrid, by profiting from image rights.
It added that Ancelotti concealed the disclosure of his income from image rights, both from Real Madrid and other brand events, by transferring these rights to fictitious entities outside of Spain, so that neither he nor these companies, which lack real activity, would have to pay taxes on the substantial amounts they received.
According to the Spanish program "El Chiringuito," Carlo Ancelotti remains calm regarding the accusations from the Madrid prosecutor's office and the demands for his imprisonment. The Spanish program indicated that Ancelotti would address this issue through his personal social media accounts before the match between Real Madrid and Leipzig.
Leipzig is set to visit Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium today, Wednesday, in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, with the first leg in Germany ending in a 1-0 victory for the royal club.
