Title: North Korean Leader's Sister Warns of Immediate Response to Any Provocation

The official Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong Un, stated on Sunday that her country's army would immediately launch a barrage of fire in the event of any provocation. These comments come after South Korea reported that North Korea fired more than 60 artillery shells on Saturday near their disputed maritime border, following a similar launch of over 200 shells in the area the day before. Kim Yo Jong said in a statement relayed by the Korean Central News Agency, "Let me clarify once again that our army has already pulled the trigger." She added, "Our army will immediately unleash a barrage of fire in case of any slight provocation." Although South Korea conducted firing exercises at sea on Friday in response to the artillery shells, the Yonhap news agency reported that there are no plans to do so following the events of Saturday. The combat drills conducted on Friday led to warnings for residents of South Korea's border islands to take shelter, although there were no reports of shells crossing the maritime border. Kim denied in the statement that shells were fired on Saturday, asserting that North Korea conducted explosive detonations as a ruse.
