Intense Airstrikes on Eastern Syria and Death of Iranian Leader

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that seven members of Iranian factions were killed in unidentified airstrikes targeting Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria early Tuesday morning. It added that there are reports of a leadership figure being killed due to the strikes that hit a faction headquarters in the Villas neighborhood of Deir ez-Zor city. It noted that unknown aircraft carried out raids on Iranian faction positions in Deir ez-Zor province, resulting in casualties and injuries. The unidentified planes targeted farms in Mayadin and two militia headquarters in Al-Bukamal city and a site near the Abbas area. This occurred hours after an Iranian cargo plane landed at Deir ez-Zor airport, according to the observatory. The cargo plane, which landed at Deir ez-Zor military airport, was carrying members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and logistical equipment. Sources from the Syrian Observatory confirmed that the plane was loaded with communication devices and cameras, which were then transferred by truck to an unknown location.
