Manchester City, the leaders of the English Premier League, announced on Thursday that goalkeeper Ederson will miss the last two matches of the season, including the FA Cup final, due to a minor fracture in his eye socket. Ederson sustained the injury on Tuesday during the away match against Tottenham Hotspur after colliding with defender Cristian Romero in the second half of City's 2-0 victory. The Brazilian goalkeeper required extended treatment on the field and appeared unsteady before being substituted by coach Pep Guardiola for Stefan Ortega. City stated in a statement: "He has since undergone scans on the injured area, which revealed a small fracture in the right eye socket. The injury will prevent Ederson from playing any further part in the remaining fixtures of the 2023-2024 season." City, the league leaders, will host their rival West Ham United next Sunday, and a win will secure them their fourth consecutive title before they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 25.
