Egypt and Russia Discuss Key Common Issues

Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Khaled Emara held a round of consultations with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko regarding European issues. The meeting addressed the most important political, security, and economic matters on the European and international scene, as well as the activities of influential political and security organizations. The consultations also touched on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis in its various dimensions, emphasizing the importance of finding appropriate political solutions, taking into account its extensive impact on international security and stability, as well as the economic pressures it poses on developing countries, particularly affecting energy sectors, food production, and the flow of trade in general. The meeting reviewed the economic relations within the BRICS group, considering the membership of both countries in this important coalition. The round of political consultations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Russian Federation on European issues was held in Cairo, chaired by Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Khaled Emara and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Alexander Grushko.
