Reports have emerged regarding the possibility of French star Karim Benzema missing the Club World Cup in football. The Union had won against Al-Khaleej with a score of (4-2) in the 15th round of the Roshan Saudi League, also known as the "Riyadh Expo 2030 round." Benzema sustained an injury while preparing for the Club World Cup, where his team, Al-Ittihad, will face a strong opponent in Auckland City on Tuesday, December 12.
A statement from Al-Ittihad indicated that Karim Benzema would undergo medical examinations today, Friday, to ensure his fitness after leaving the match due to injury in the first half against Al-Khaleej. According to Ayman Al-Hamad, a specialist in sports injury treatment and rehabilitation, in the program "Dourina Ghair," Benzema's injury will not prevent him from participating with Al-Ittihad in the Club World Cup.
Al-Hamad mentioned in a television interview: "Karim Benzema is suffering from a muscle injury in the piriformis muscle that connects the pelvis and thigh." He added, "Benzema's injury occurred while he was taking a penalty kick, where he felt pain, and he has a severe strain."
He expressed optimism, saying: "I doubt that Benzema has a muscle tear, and I believe that in two or three days he will be fine, and this injury will not prevent him from participating in the Club World Cup." Al-Hamad expects that Benzema will return to play with Al-Ittihad in the next match or those following his full recovery from the injury. Currently, Al-Ittihad ranks fourth with 28 points, while Al-Khaleej is in fourteenth place with 13 points.
