Economy Inspectors in Nabatieh Close a Restaurant in Deir Zaharani

A patrol from the Ministry of Economy and Trade – Consumer Protection Directorate in Nabatieh carried out legal action against the owner of a shawarma restaurant violating food safety regulations in the town of Deir Zaharani, within the Nabatieh district, with the presence and support of State Security elements from the Nabatieh office. Following a judicial order from the appellate public prosecutor at the Nabatieh Courthouse, Judge Ramzi Farhat, the restaurant was closed with a red seal, and a record of seizure was prepared against its owner. The inspectors took samples of the meats intended for cooking to be tested at the ministry's authorized laboratory, with further action to be determined based on the results. Additionally, the Southern Economy Directorate, with the support of the State Security office in Zaharani, filed a record of seizure against a refrigerated meat truck in the town of Ansariyeh for failing to comply with health safety conditions during the transportation and distribution of refrigerated meats to restaurants and butcher shops. About 70 kilograms of marinated chicken, meat, and fish, which were being prepared in a private kitchen without a date of validity stamp, were also seized, pending written approval from the southern public prosecutor for disposal.
