The Israeli army requested the evacuation of Shifa Hospital in Gaza via loudspeakers and a call with the hospital director, Mohamed Abu Salmiya, instructing all patients, injured individuals, displaced persons, and medical staff to leave and walk towards the beach road, giving them one hour to do so. According to the United Nations, there are about 2,300 patients, healthcare workers, and displaced individuals in the facility, heightening international concern about their fate. Israel, on the other hand, claims that Hamas, which controls the authority in Gaza, is using this hospital as a military base.
The Palestinian news agency reported that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on the Hamad Towers in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, has risen to 26, with most victims being children. Earlier, a medical source told the Arab World News Agency that the airstrikes targeted two residential apartments in the Hamad Towers. An eyewitness reported to the Arab World News Agency that the bodies of the victims arrived at the Nasser Medical Complex.
Earlier, Palestine TV reported that nine displaced persons were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house west of the Al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. Additionally, it disclosed that dozens were killed and injured in Israeli shelling on a residential area in the Al-Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, as well as numerous casualties resulting from strikes on the Al-Nuseirat camp.
Israel also issued a new warning to Palestinians in Khan Younis, urging them to move westward, away from the line of fire, and to be closer to humanitarian aid, indicating that it plans to target Hamas in the south after taking control of the north. Mark Regev, an aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told MSNBC yesterday: "We ask people to move. I know it's not easy for many of them, but we don't want civilians to fall under gunfire." The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that "six Palestinians were killed today, Saturday, in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in Deir al-Balah in southern Gaza."
