Hagari: We are Seriously Considering Hamas' Response to the Ceasefire Proposal

Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari revealed that Hamas' response to the ceasefire proposal is being examined "seriously," amidst a wave of skepticism from political officials. In response to a question about Hamas' announcement regarding the ceasefire, Hagari stated, "We are taking all answers and responses seriously and exhausting all possibilities regarding negotiations and the return of hostages."

This comes as Israeli media reported that the political sphere in Israel did not take Hamas' announcement of its acceptance of the ceasefire proposal seriously, indicating that Hamas agreed to a modified version of the proposal that Israel has not approved yet.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted a source saying, "This is a unilateral response from Hamas to an Egyptian proposal, and when we receive it, we will study it and respond." Meanwhile, the Israeli army radio reported that the proposal accepted by Hamas has not been approved by Israel so far.

Channel 12 in Israel quoted Israeli officials saying, "We will study Hamas' response; the current proposal differs from the version that Israel has agreed to." The officials added that this is a long-term proposal that is unacceptable to Israel. A government official considered Hamas' announcement of acceptance of the ceasefire proposal to be a ploy aimed at portraying Israel as a rogue state.
