The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abu Ghait, stated that "the ultimate goal of Israel's plan is the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip," noting that the war in Gaza is a "comprehensive genocide against an entire people, with tools such as bullets, bombs, and deliberate starvation." Ahmed Abu Ghait participated in the first meeting of the Arab Ministerial Working Group, chaired by Somalia and including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Djibouti, Mauritania, and the Arab League General Secretariat, which was held at the General Secretariat's headquarters alongside the 161st regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
The spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdi, stated that Abu Ghait emphasized the great importance and priority given to supporting the security, stability, unity, and sovereignty of Somalia, as well as the integrity of its territory on the Arab League's agenda. This solidarity was reflected in Decision No. (8988) of the Arab League Council during its extraordinary session, titled "Support for the Federal Republic of Somalia in Facing Attacks on Its Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity."
Abu Ghait revealed "all the efforts and actions taken by the General Secretariat and the Arab groups in New York, Vienna, and Geneva in implementation of Arab League Decision No. (8988) to support Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity," confirming that "the Arab League is ready to work and cooperate with the Federal Somali Government and all partners and regional and international organizations to support the ongoing and steadfast pursuit of peace, stability, and development throughout the country."
