Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced in a military statement that they "sniped a Zionist soldier in the industrial area of the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in western Gaza City," amid ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip. They revealed that they "detonated an anti-personnel device with an engineering force on foot, resulting in casualties among its personnel in the Brazil neighborhood east of Rafah."
