Toni Kroos, the star of Real Madrid, has announced the end of his journey with the royal club at the conclusion of the current season. In an official statement, Kroos revealed that he has decided to end his football career and hang up his boots after the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament.
Kroos stated in his announcement: "July 17, 2014 - the day I was presented at Real Madrid, the day that changed my life. My life as a football player, but especially as a person." He added, "It marked the beginning of a new chapter in the biggest club in the world, and after 10 years, at the end of the season, this chapter comes to an end. I will never forget that successful time! I would particularly like to thank everyone who welcomed me with open arms and trusted me."
He continued: "But specifically, I want to thank you, dear Madridistas, for your passion and love from day one until the last day." He noted, "At the same time, this decision means that my career as a football player will end this summer after the Euro. As I have always said: Real Madrid is my last team and will remain so. I am happy and proud because I have found the right timing for my decision in my mind and can choose it myself."
He concluded: "My ambition has always been to end my career at the peak of my performance level. From now on, there is only one leading idea: the 15!!! Hala Madrid forever."
