Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid acknowledged that his young Turkish player, Arda Güler, suffered an injury before the match against Sporting Braga (3-0) last Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League. Real Madrid fans are still eagerly awaiting the debut of the talented Arda Güler, who joined the royal team during last summer's transfer window from Turkish club Fenerbahçe. The 18-year-old Güler has yet to play any matches for "Los Merengues" since arriving in Madrid, due to injuries.
Güler has struggled with multiple injuries since the start of the season, and he only entered the squad for the first time at the beginning of November, during the last two matches for Real. As Real Madrid prepares to face Valencia tomorrow, Saturday, in the 13th round of La Liga, the newspaper "AS" reported shocking news for the club's fans.
The Madrid-based newspaper revealed that the Turkish player has suffered a new setback, which has kept him from participating in team training today. "AS" also noted that Güler was in the gym training alone, away from the group, indicating that he will miss tomorrow's match, thus postponing his first appearance with the team indefinitely.
Carlo Ancelotti commented on the news of Güler's latest setback during a press conference on Friday, the eve of the Valencia match. He stated, "Yes, he suffered an injury before the match against Sporting Braga. He is sad, but it is not serious." He added that Güler "is not experiencing a setback, just a minor injury, and we have the international break to get him ready again."
