Egyptian investigative authorities have ordered the name of festival singer Issam Sasa to be placed on watchlists for arrest due to drug use allegations. The Egyptian Public Prosecution has issued an order to locate and apprehend Issam Sasa after confirming his involvement in drug use. Additionally, it has put his name on the watchlists since he is currently abroad, connected to several concerts there.
Previously, the prosecution ordered a drug test for Sasa through a forensic committee after he was involved in an incident that caused the death of a young man named Ahmed Miftaah, who was run over by his car on the ring road in the Monib area in Giza Governorate. The purpose was to determine if Sasa was under the influence during the incident. The forensic report confirmed that Sasa tested positive for drug use at the time he was driving his car during the incident.
Sasa had announced reconciliation with the family of the deceased young man, indicating that both parties reached an agreement and that he would support them throughout his life.
In a related context, investigations into the arrest of Sasa's brother in the Hadayek Al-Ahram area revealed details about his apprehension. The investigations showed that Sasa's brother was involved in falsifying a power of attorney at the notary office in Giza Governorate. Reports indicated that Sasa's brother forged a power of attorney for a lawyer, signing it on his behalf while the festival singer was outside the country, following the Public Prosecution's decision to release him on bail of 30,000 Egyptian pounds related to the case of running over a "driver." Consequently, the authorities have ordered his arrest and detention again after the forensic report indicated drug use while he was driving.
