"Burglary Gang" Targets Football Stars' Homes: Here's How They Planned!

The Spanish police arrested a burglary gang on Wednesday that targeted luxury properties in Madrid, including homes of prominent players in the football league. Six suspects were arrested for "eight home burglaries since July 2022," according to a police statement. Police sources revealed that among the targeted homes was the residence of Real Madrid's winger, Brazilian international Rodrygo, as well as that of Colombian veteran Radamel Falcao of Rayo Vallecano. They declined to disclose whether any other football players were affected by this case.

The statement noted that to identify their targets, "the thieves scrutinized social media, studying photos and videos shared by players and their friends and families from inside those homes." This enabled them to pinpoint valuable items and their locations, while social media also helped them ascertain when the owners would be at home. They visited the sites to survey them from the outside, study the security systems used, and determine the best method of entry before carrying out their operations.
