Spanish midfielder Pedri will miss the rest of the Euro 2024 tournament following a violent tackle from German player Toni Kroos, who has apologized to the young player. Pedri left the field in tears in the eighth minute of the quarter-final match, which took place on Friday against Germany, where Spain won 2-1 after extra time. Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, stated that Kroos should have been sent off, as he was playing the last match of his illustrious career, but he did not even receive a yellow card. The Spanish football federation reported that Pedri is suffering from a "grade two sprain in his left knee." Pedri was a key player in Euro 2024, starting in four of Spain's five matches, only missing the final group game against Albania, when Spain had already secured the top spot in Group B.
