The UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed bilateral relations between the two countries during a phone call on Saturday with the Iranian Foreign Minister-designate Ali Baqeri Kani. Both sides exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and discussed "ways to enhance cooperative relations that serve the common interests of both countries and their peoples and contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region," according to a statement reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM). They reviewed several issues of mutual interest and the latest developments in the regional and international arenas and the situation in the region.
