The documentary film "Hiding Saddam Hussein," directed by Helkot Mustafa, is set to be screened in cinemas in the Kurdistan region on July 21, following its presentation at several festivals and cinemas around the world. The documentary will be shown on July 21, 2024, at Empire Cinema in Erbil, City Cinema in Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok Mall Cinema in Duhok. This cinematic production will also be released on the same date in cinemas in 14 Arab countries; however, Tunisia and Morocco have already screened the film during Eid al-Adha. After evaluating the film, the UAE decided to show it and suggested that it be viewed by those over 18 years old, but did not impose an age restriction, allowing those over 15 to watch it. A decision has not yet been made regarding whether the film will be screened in Baghdad, as the director is awaiting a response from the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities. The documentary "Hiding Saddam Hussein" tells the story of Alaa Namak, who managed to hide Saddam Hussein in a hole for 235 days while 150,000 American soldiers searched for him. The film had its global cinema debut in November 2023 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and among the Arab countries where the film was first shown was in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as well as in several European and Arab countries.
