A Spanish media report on Wednesday stated that Nico Williams, winger for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team, has made a decision regarding his future. Williams, 22, is one of Barcelona's top priorities this summer, especially following his outstanding performance with the Spanish national team and his significant contribution to winning the "Euro 2024" title. His name has also been linked to a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as Paris Saint-Germain in France, showing interest.
However, according to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," Williams has requested that his representatives disregard all offers made to him, except for Barcelona's. The newspaper clarified that Williams is only considering two options this summer: transferring to Barcelona or staying with his club, Athletic Bilbao.
The report also indicated that Barcelona intends to activate the release clause in Williams' contract before mid-August, after selling some players and lowering the wage cap. Williams is contracted with Bilbao until 2028 and has a release clause set at €58 million.
