The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the downing of three Ukrainian drones early this Sunday morning, which were attempting what was described as a "terrorist attack" on Moscow. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that Russian defense forces intercepted a drone that tried to attack the capital. Sobyanin mentioned, "Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian capital at night," and added that the facades of two office buildings were slightly damaged.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, in a statement, said: "This Sunday morning, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using drones on targets in Moscow was thwarted." The statement confirmed the "destruction of a Ukrainian drone in the air by air defense systems over the territory of the Odintsovo district in the Moscow region." It continued, "Two other drones were suppressed by electronic warfare systems, and after losing control, they crashed on the territory of a non-residential building complex in Moscow."
A source in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense indicated that the attack involving two drones targeting Moscow last Monday morning was a "special operation" executed by Kyiv. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that "the drone attack on Moscow was a special operation carried out by the military intelligence agency" of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova characterized the Kyiv regime's attempt to launch a drone attack on targets in Moscow as "an international terrorist act." The TASS news agency reported that "Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin earlier stated that minor damage occurred to the facades of two administrative buildings, but there were no casualties."
