Lebanon's Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib made a phone call to his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf, during which he renewed the Lebanese government's gratitude and appreciation for Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's initiative to supply Lebanon with fuel for its power plants. He conveyed the Lebanese people's feelings of gratitude for "the step taken by the brotherly Algeria." He also thanked him for "the significant support that Algeria shows to Lebanon and its continuous backing in all the difficult circumstances it faces," praising "the ongoing cooperation and coordination between them at the United Nations and the Security Council regarding issues of mutual concern." For his part, Minister Attaf stated, "Algeria does not wish to see Lebanon in total darkness, and it is currently looking for the fastest way to send fuel to it." He confirmed his country's readiness "to do everything necessary to support Lebanon in international forums, particularly in the Security Council."
