An Egyptian aircraft experienced a tragic incident where the co-pilot announced the death of the aircraft's captain during the flight, causing panic among passengers.
In detail, on Wednesday, the co-pilot of one of the Egyptian planes belonging to a private company, which was traveling from Cairo to Taif, Saudi Arabia, announced the death of the flight’s captain, Pilot Hassan Yousef Addas. The pilot passed away due to a health issue while operating flight NE130. The flight was immediately diverted to Jeddah Airport after the pilot's health deteriorated suddenly, but he ultimately passed away.
The co-pilot, with a sad and emotional tone, informed the passengers that the pilot had died during the flight, leading to a state of fear and panic among them, with some being shocked and others breaking down in tears.
One of the late pilot's close friends told "Al Arabiya.net" that the deceased pilot was from Cairo and had not married yet. He was flying a flight for another private company, not the one he typically worked for, adding that the co-pilot perhaps announced the pilot's death to explain why the plane made an emergency landing in Jeddah and did not intend to frighten the passengers.
He continued that the pilot was going through difficult emotional circumstances due to the recent death of his brother and was suffering from obesity and its complications. The private company to which the aircraft belonged, Sky Vision, mourned the pilot, and the pilot's funeral was held in a grand ceremony in the Sheraton area of Cairo.
