Dozens of Rockets from Lebanon Targeting Nahariya and Southern Haifa; Israeli Army Responds with Artillery Fire

After a cautious calm observed today, the intensity of clashes flared up in the afternoon on the southern border between Hezbollah and the Israeli army. The Al-Qassam Brigades in Lebanon announced that they had fired "16 rockets at Nahariya and southern Haifa in response to the massacres of the Israeli occupation and its aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip." For its part, the Israeli army announced the "launch of 30 rockets from Lebanon towards northern Israel, with the army responding with artillery fire at the sources of the shooting."

Israeli media reported that air defenses attempted to intercept two drones at the northern border and noted that the Iron Dome tried to counter rockets launched from Lebanon towards Western Galilee and northern Haifa. In a related context, Hezbollah mourned in a statement today the deaths of Hussein Lotfi Sweid "Mazen" from the town of Markaba in southern Lebanon and Mohammad Malhem Youssef "Mujahid" from the town of Ham in the Beqaa Valley.

Earlier, the vicinity of Lebanese border towns was subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, amidst the flight of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft, according to local media. Additionally, the Kiryat Shmona municipality called on all residents in the city to evacuate immediately. Explosions were heard in the western sector, and sirens sounded in Avivim and the Malakiya region in upper Galilee. Reports indicated that the Israeli army's artillery targeted "Mount Blat" and the area between Beit Leif and Ramia in the western sector of southern Lebanon.

An Israeli reconnaissance drone was also reported flying over the western sector, particularly in the areas of al-Labouna, Naqoura, Alama al-Shaab, and Dhahira, reaching the airspace of the towns of Ramia and Marwaheen in the afternoon, amidst cautious calm in the border villages adjacent to Israeli territories. The Lebanese Civil Defense center in Alama al-Shaab was damaged and evacuated after the last airstrike, resulting in shattered windows.

Israeli reconnaissance aircraft had been flying over the western and central sectors up to Tyre and above the Litani River since early morning. Additionally, the Israeli army shelled the vicinity of Naqoura and al-Labouna. This escalation followed a harrowing night for the families in the south due to the massacre committed by Israel against a civilian family in Aainata, which resulted in the deaths of three girls and their grandmother, with their mother injured due to the targeting of their vehicle by a drone missile.

As the Israeli army shelled the vicinity of the towns of Alama al-Shaab and Ayta al-Shaab at midnight, flares were lit throughout the night until dawn above these towns. There were also reports of the Israeli army asking the residents of upper Galilee to adhere to shelter guidelines in anticipation of a potential security incident.
