On Sunday, the Israeli military published a new video documenting the moment Israeli aircraft targeted the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen. Israeli media also provided new details regarding the strike against the Houthis. The video released by military spokesperson Daniel Hagari shows one of the Israeli planes targeting what appears to be a large crane inside the Hodeidah port.
Daniel Hagari stated that the port attacked by the Israeli air force is used as a "main supply route for delivering Iranian weapons from Iran to Yemen, starting with the drone used in the attack on Friday morning" in Tel Aviv. Additionally, the military released a video on Saturday showcasing the preparations made before executing the strike on positions belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen.
New information revealed by Israeli media indicated that the Israeli "Long Arm" operation against the Houthis in Yemen included a long-range flight of 1,800 kilometers in each direction, involving dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft: F35, F16, F15 fighter jets for refueling, and intelligence aircraft.
Israeli Channel 11 reported that the first strike of the operation targeted two cranes used for unloading ships at the port of Hodeidah. Furthermore, oil warehouses were attacked, resulting in a significant fire at the port. The aircraft took off from Israel around 3:15 PM, with a total flight time of 2 hours and 50 minutes in each direction. Due to the long distance, the fighter jets were refueled multiple times in the air during the attack, making this one of the longest missions carried out by the Israeli air force.
It was noted that the air force planes took off over the Red Sea, after Israel informed the Americans of the operation plan before it was put into action.
