Guardiola Drops New Surprise About De Bruyne's Future

Despite recent reports confirming Kevin De Bruyne's continued presence at Manchester City for the upcoming season, doubts still linger regarding the Belgian playmaker's future, especially amidst significant temptations from Saudi clubs, notably Al-Ittihad. Pep Guardiola, the City manager, had previously asserted the player's continuity with him for next season, which will see the end of his contract, and today he reiterated this but revealed a new surprise regarding negotiations with clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

The Spanish coach clarified during statements reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano that the English club has not received any official offers for De Bruyne, contradicting previous reports that spoke of negotiations and meetings between the managements of City and Al-Ittihad regarding the player. He stated: "I haven't spoken with De Bruyne, but the club told me they have not received any offer. I don't know what will happen, but I hope he stays. It is now up to him, but what I have been told is that he will stay."

It is worth noting that the 33-year-old was among the targets of the Saudi league in the summer of 2023, but he chose to remain in English football.
