The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced the trial operation of a smart inspection vehicle designed to monitor the areas surrounding train tracks using advanced intelligent systems. This innovative vehicle is equipped with cameras and electronic systems that employ artificial intelligence, enabling it to detect violations, prohibited activities, and damages that may occur in these areas.
The initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency in daily inspection activities across train station zones within Dubai's metro and tram networks by utilizing modern technological systems. Abdulrahman Al Junahi, Director of the Railways Corridor Management at the RTA, stated that the authority launched the smart vehicle to carry out inspection tasks, representing a significant step in the authority's efforts to protect the railway infrastructure in Dubai.
He added that this initiative aims to provide comprehensive coverage of train station zones, double the speed of inspection reporting, ensure the reliability of outputs, reduce human errors, and provide effective support for informed decision-making. He clarified that this project emphasizes the RTA's commitment to adopting smart solutions to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the safety of railway infrastructure.
The use of this smart inspection vehicle is expected to lead to a substantial improvement in the efficiency of inspection operations in train station areas, ensuring comprehensive network coverage and immediate reporting of any technical issues. In this context, the RTA is keen on adopting advanced technologies that support sustainable and efficient public transport systems, and the trial operation of the smart inspection vehicle marks an important step toward excellence in transportation services.
