Speaker Berri Commends Border Village Leaders for Resisting Israeli Claims

Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, praised the statements and stances from municipal leaders and spiritual figures of border villages, particularly Christian communities in Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil districts. He highlighted the recent statement from Rmeish Municipality, which refuted the false claims by the Israeli Prime Minister regarding the desire of these villages' residents to join Israel. Berri asserted that the steadfastness and unity of these communities manifest their unwavering national allegiance that remains uncompromised under any circumstances.

Berri warned against falling prey to the lies and fabrications promoted by Israeli political circles, which aim to sow discord among border area residents. These communities remain united by their shared aspirations to end conflict, reclaim their land, rebuild what Israeli aggression has destroyed, and heal their common wounds.

Furthermore, Berri emphasized the urgent need for the Lebanese state, along with the Arab and international communities, to intervene and stop the systematic destruction occurring in Bint Jbeil and surrounding villages, as well as in Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Tyre districts. He condemned Israel's apparent intent to render large swathes of southern Lebanon uninhabitable, urging that such actions must no longer be met with silence as is currently the case.
